Acute Kidney Disease refers to the abrupt loss of the kidneys’ ability to filter waste products and maintain fluid and electrolyte balance. This leads to a buildup of toxins in the blood and can affect multiple organs. Symptoms of Acute Kidney Disease Symptoms may appear suddenly and include: Reduced urine output Swelling in legs, ankles, or face Fatigue and weakness Nausea and vomiting Shortness of breath Confusion Chest pain (in severe cases) In some cases, AKI may not show obvious symptoms and is detected through blood tests.
